Usage

Cite template to deal with citing individual records found in the United States census. U.S. Census data is publicly available for years 1790 to 1940. For years 1850 to 1940, these records often contain names, addresses, ages, national origins, and occupations.

Parameters (no required parameters)

Horizontal format:

Description of parameters

  • title: title of the census record
  • url: URL of the source record
  • year: year the census was taken
  • location: the census place (town or city, township or county, state)
  • roll: microfilm roll number
  • page: census page number
  • line: entry line number
  • enumdist : census enumeration district
  • filmnum: LDS Family History Center film or microfiche image number
  • nafilm: National Archives film number
  • accessdate: when you looked it up
